Strengthening mentality and Motivation

In Rocket League, mentality is everything: You may moan all you want, but the truth still is that you're up against another human being who is no more skilful than you are otherwise they would be in your lobby. Instead, you should focus all your energy on obtaining that skill level on your own.

I've acknowledged that playing RL is similar to volleyball in that it relies significantly on momentum. If you make one error and the ball drops in volleyball, the opposing team cheers, retrieves the ball, and more chances to score are given, which lowers the player's morale significantly. However, when each team swaps serves following errors, the game's balance flips continuously. RL is also very momentum-based for me, since if I whiff or miss a shot, it takes some effort to regain my momentum and confidence. Mentality has a significant impact on my gameplay unless a game changing opportunity occurs.

Rocket League is a game that is greatly impacted by the player's mindset. It's easy to become frustrated when playing Rocket League, but becoming angry causes you to make more mistakes, which can cost you goals and maybe the game. It's crucial to keep your cool and remember that there's still time to make a comeback. One of the most common causes of stress in Rocket League is concern over one's rank, which adds unneeded pressure. Embracing your errors improves your attitude and helps you progress; most high-level players review their replays to identify mistakes and where they can improve their performance, which is something I would recommend to all players it is better to have a friend or maybe even a coach who is a higher rank than you to help you go through your replay and tell you your errors and what to improve on and they can also give an insight on how they would have dealt with the situation.

When the body and mind are in perfect synchronisation, flow state is one of the finest ways to keep a positive mood because you execute with ultimate awareness and hyper-focus.

“When a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully,” ― Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Flow: The Classic Work on How to Achieve Happiness: The Psychology of Happiness

Relax!!!! If your feeling nervous or you've pumped your brain and body with caffeine, you won't be likely to reach a state of flow. At best, you'll find yourself panicking and trying to play faster than you can (at least from my experience anyway) or yoyoing between ranks. Rarely does this result in the type of brilliance or pure joy that Rocket League players like Arsenal, Squishy, and Kaydop have become recognized for.

Live in the Moment. The flow state is defined by practising mindfulness, which some recognised as the skill of living in and focusing completely on the present moment. Most often than not the best approach to get work done efficiently is to focus on the current moment. Be present in the moment.

Staying motivated to play RL can be frustrating especially if you feel like you aren't making progress and are hard stuck diamond, but you will if you really want to, and forget about playing to win and instead play to improve. I was hard stuck plat until I decided I wanted to have a future in RL esports,

I made commitment one day to improve, sat in free play for hours to concentrate on my mechanical ability, I watched many many rotational tutorials, and progressed from diamond in season 14 eventually reaching GC in season 3 FTP (season 17). To be honest, I've always strived to improve, but I never put in the effort because I convinced myself that "I'll get better just by playing." But, of course, I didn't start improving until I started working hard for it.

I just set goals for myself and worked toward them.

Doing things like training packs, workshops for mechanics and to improve car control, viewing videos for rotation and to improve your game knowledge and reviewing my own gameplay. All of this happens gradually, and I take the time I need to make progress.

IMPORTANT TIP: Do not overwork yourself by attempting to multitask!

You'll learn a little bit about everything, but you'll need more time to master everything. This will demotivate you since you will notice less overall development. It is, in my opinion, simpler to concentrate on one thing train it, master it, go on to the next, incorporate the previous step into the current one after some time, and so on. If you can handle the tilt, play 1's it can also boost your improvement.

It might be stressful at times, but it has allowed you to make significant progress. You get a lot of confidence in certain scenarios ang grow to be more comfortable in most situations, particularly on defence, since it puts you in these positions a lot. I can only speak for myself on this, but I saw 1's as an objective I had to conquer, and I appreciate a good challenge. This helps me stay motivated.
